Garden Tour | Landart
Based in Melbourne, Landart Design & Construction was established in 2007 out of a strong passion and desire to create stunning and timeless gardens. The Landart team have been kind enough to take us on a virtual tour of their stunning Berwick project.
"Our Berwick project, completed in 2020, entailed a complete new front, sides & rear landscape. The project was a knock down re-build new home by our clients so we had a clean slate to create the new landscape from on an expansive corner block. The landscape was designed by Out From The Blue who also installed a new swimming pool as part of the project. The landscape project consisted of many different areas of detailed hard landscape all of which was softened beautifully by lush dense planting throughout & striking hardscape features.
A granite gravel pathway leads to a raised limestone paved terrace outside the master bedroom, stepping back down and continuing to the lounge terrace off the main dining area in which a contrasting change in paving occurs from large format light grey limestone paving to a small batten style earthy coloured limestone paving laid in stack bond formation.
Continuing through a custom glass pool barrier into the pool area, is an expansive large format limestone paved terrace with full width drop faced paved stairs leading down to pool level. The soft grey porcelain clad swimming pool is pronounced by the raised limestone batten clad feature wall behind with 5 custom brass water feature spouts extruding from the wall and creeping rosemary subtly cascading over the wall edge. Perimeter ficus hedge planting gives the space its well-deserved privacy on one side & a custom made powder-coated steel pool barrier provides a striking feature on the other.
The theme is continued into the alfresco area with the large format limestone paving continued & feature batten limestone cladding replicated upon the fireplace as the central feature to the alfresco space equipped with a fully functional outdoor kitchen & stunning furniture to complement the space.
A family sized buffalo rear lawn finishes off this exceptional landscape with no detail missed throughout, dense waterhousia hedging along the NW boundary & mass planting of Pennisetum in the hidden garden bed behind the rear garage.
We executed all aspects of the hard & soft landscape construction to the highest of standards with every detail meticulously thought through & executed
In total we laid over 210m2 of detailed paving & cladding, 125m2 of decorative exposed aggregate, installed 57 mature trees, 750 shrubs, grasses & groundcovers & installed 105 garden lights.
The result is a stunning functional landscape that is exceptional to view from every angle & our clients love & able to use all year around."
