Designed by someone who needed them
Before The Balcony Garden, our founder, Josh, was a landscape designer. Project after project, he went looking for planters that suited the spaces he was creating, and he couldn't find them. Most were either flimsy or dated, and very few actually elevated a space.
So he started designing his own. Clean lines. Modern finishes. Built to last. Today we work closely with designers, artisans and craftspeople around the world, with our own warehouses in Australia, Europe, the UK and the US.
Made by hand. Made to last.
Twenty years of designing pots has taught us that the details matter.
Made by hand
Every one of our pots is handmade, so small variations in colour and finish are part of its character.
Tested in Australian conditions
Suitable outdoors in rain, hail, sun or snow, and just as good inside.
Drainage, thought through
Willow pots have two 30mm drainage holes. Humphrey pots have none, so there is no mess indoors.
Ethically sourced
We use ethically sourced materials and practices across our whole collection.

Kind words
Verified reviews from Balcony Garden customers.
They look incredibly sophisticated, sleek, and high end, exactly what I was hoping for. The team in the office were an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Kerri M. · Ribbed LoobI've bought pots from a few different places over the years and these are genuinely in a different league. The weight feels right and the finish is flawless.
James K. · Ribbed LoobVery very happy with my new pots, the shape and feel of them is perfect. The matte black is a much nicer finish than other pots on the market.
Fiona D. · JITTI visited the showroom prior to purchasing. I am glad I did, it really helped me to understand the size of the pots, and the sizes I needed to fill the space I had in mind.
Jordan M. · WaddleStunning! I am in love with my Chad pot. So glad I spoke to the sales team to choose the particular finish I was after. It turned out better than I ever expected.
Lori M. · ChadI had quite a large, bare pool area and was after some pots that took up plenty of floor space but didn't distract from our view too much. The Chop was the perfect solution.

How does the Pot Luck Draw work?
Sign up to our emails and you'll get 10% off your first order, as always. From then on, every order you place as a subscriber goes into the pot. Every Monday until the end of the year we draw one order out on camera, and that order is refunded.
Do I need to be subscribed?
Yes. Only orders placed while you're subscribed to our emails go into the draw, so sign up before you check out.
Does more than one order count?
Yes. Every order you place as a subscriber goes into the pot, so each order is another chance.
When is the draw and how will I know?
We draw one order every Monday on camera and share it on our socials. If your order is drawn, we'll email you and refund it to your original payment method.
When does it end?
The final draw is the last Monday of 2026. Full terms and conditions apply.
Can I see the pots before I buy?
Yes. Our Melbourne showroom at 13 Mills Street, Cheltenham is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Our Sydney showroom is relocating to a bigger space and reopens at the start of 2027.
What are the pots made of?
Willow and Humphrey pots are a blend of poly-resin and fibreglass, which makes them strong and lightweight. Bad Names planters are wood-fired clay, Terra Botanica is modern terracotta, and our Antique Limestone planters are hand-carved stone.
Are the pots handmade?
Yes, all of our pots are handmade, so each one may have slight imperfections and colour variations.
Can they be used indoors and out?
Yes. Our pots have been tested in Australian conditions and are suitable outdoors in rain, hail, sun or snow. They look great indoors too. For indoor spaces without a tray, our Humphrey Range has no drainage holes.
Do they have drainage holes?
Willow and Slugg pots have two 30mm drainage holes. Bad Names and Terra Botanica pots also have drainage holes. Humphrey pots do not.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across Australia, excluding the NT, to street addresses (not PO Boxes). Delivery is calculated at checkout based on your order and address. Free click and collect is available from our Melbourne warehouse.
How are larger pots packed?
Our larger and more fragile pieces are packed inside a soft wooden crate on a pallet so they travel safely. Some pots are heavy, so an extra pair of hands on delivery day helps.
Can I return a pot?
Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 7 days as store credit. Return freight is paid by you and there is no restocking fee. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law always apply. See our returns policy for full details.
