Designed by a landscaper
The Balcony Garden started with a landscaper who kept running into the same problem: the planters never lived up to the gardens he built. So he started designing his own.
We have been making planters since 2006. Today our pieces sit on patios, balconies and in commercial spaces right across Australia, and you can see the range up close at our Melbourne showroom in Cheltenham.

Where do you deliver?
We deliver Australia-wide. For deliveries to the Northern Territory, please contact us for a shipping quote before ordering. We need a street address, as we cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
How long does delivery take?
We aim to dispatch orders within 7 working days, and you should ordinarily receive your planters within 10 days of purchase. If an item is unavailable, it may take a little longer.
Where do you ship from?
All orders ship from our warehouse in Cheltenham, Melbourne. Free Click & Collect is available from the warehouse, and it is selected by default for Victorian customers at checkout.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and the size of your order. Optional Shipping Protection is available for $9.95 per order.
Will they handle Australian conditions?
Yes. Our planters have been tested in Australian conditions and are suitable for outdoor use in rain, hail, sun or snow. Our hand-thrown clay planters are natural, so every finish is unique.
Do the planters have drainage holes?
Yes. Every Willow planter has two 30mm drainage holes, and our Bad Names and Terra Botanica planters also include drainage holes. Check each product page for details.
Can I use them indoors?
Yes. All our planters are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Indoors, we recommend a pot tray to catch any water run-off.
How is my order delivered?
Delivery is kerbside only. Orders outside Melbourne arrive on a pallet, and Bad Names and Terra Botanica planters are packed in a wooden crate so they arrive safely. Some planters are heavy, so an extra pair of hands on delivery day helps.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Our planters are backed by a two-year warranty, and our goods also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. See our warranty and returns policy for full details.
Can I return a planter?
Planters are heavy and costly to ship, so we are always happy to help you pick the right size and finish before you buy. Change-of-mind returns can be requested within 7 days of delivery and are refunded as store credit. Sale items, custom orders and pre-orders cannot be returned.
