Three Birds Renovations: House 18
We’ve teamed up with Three Birds Renovations once again, and it was a joy to see our Limestone and Terra Botanica Ranges come to life in the outdoor spaces of their latest project.
Meet Maison Soleil, French for “Sunhouse”. The name says it all: light-filled, warm and unmistakably French-inspired, but built for how an Australian family actually lives.

The Family
Set in Three Birds heartland on Sydney’s North Shore, this home belongs to a family of five: Mum, Dad and three energetic young boys. True to the Three Birds way, they handed over their keys, their budget and their trust, then moved out so the team could work their magic.
After nine years in the house, they know exactly what they love (and what they don’t). Their wishlist was clear:
- Open-plan living
- Better indoor-outdoor flow for entertaining
- A swimming pool for the boys to splash in
- Plenty of space to host family and friends
- More bedrooms, since the three boys have been sharing one until now

The Design
Drawing on the warmth and texture of their last three projects, the team filtered everything through a French country lens. Mixed cladding takes centre stage (the more, the better), with brick and timber layered together and anchored by clean gabled rooflines for a strong architectural statement.
Character comes in spades with a barn-style garage door and a rustic timber entryway pergola, a nod to the outbuildings and covered walkways of a French farmhouse. A muted neutral palette and wild, textural landscaping soften and ground the look.
The result is a home that makes busy urban living feel beautiful, functional and effortlessly relaxed, with a little French romance woven right through it.
Explore the Limestone and Terra Botanica Ranges to bring some of this warmth and texture to your own outdoor space.
