Garden Tour | King's Gardens and Pools
King’s Gardens & Pools has been building beautiful gardens for over 15 years. Located in Geelong, the key to producing their quality work is using small teams on projects, allowing them to learn the intricacies of a property and implement a design with complete confidence. Over his 20-year landscaping career, Jason King has refined his knowledge and skills and is licensed with the Victorian Building Authority to build swimming pools, spas, and structural components of a landscape.
"The front yard of the Barwon Heads home was tired and barely used. The pool had a dated terracotta tiled shell and cracked pavers.
Our first task was to reshape the pool, making it narrower along one side to add a planter box running the length. We also brought the pool in to add a raised deck at the southern end. Bringing in timber softened the space and created a space for lounging and view down on to the pool.
Precision paving around the irregular shaped pool was completed using Chalford limestone. The Barrimah wall cladding added a natural texture at face level and the crucial privacy the clients were looking for.
We planted lush, evergreen, strappy plants including Bamboo, Mexican Lilly and Bird of Paradise creating a tropical oasis. We broke up the hard surfaces by building a palm tree into the paved area. The Bangalow Palm in the oversized pot is a show-stopper and a nod to our clients' NSW background.
Our clients loved the look of hardwood so we incorporated a timber batten fence providing a backdrop to the pool. Joining that was a render wall to keep the materials simple and painted charcoal so the lush green plants would pop." - King's Gardens and Pools
