HAND MADE
Every Terra Botanica piece is shaped by hand before it's fired, carrying the small variations that only handwork leaves behind.
WOOD FIRED
Fired using traditional methods, each piece develops its own depth of tone and texture in the kiln.
A TIMELESS MATERIAL
Terracotta has shaped gardens for centuries, and for good reason — it ages with grace rather than wear.
A MODERN TAKE

As seen in
Can I plant directly into a Terra Botanica pot, or should I use a liner?
You can plant directly, but because the clay is porous, moisture will evaporate through the pot's walls faster than with glazed ceramic or resin — worth keeping in mind for watering frequency, especially with larger pieces or thirstier plants.
Is natural clay durable enough for permanent outdoor use?
Yes, these pots are wood-fired using techniques passed down for generations in Thailand, which gives the clay its strength and durability for outdoor conditions. As with any natural clay pot, it's a good idea to avoid trapped water, so make sure drainage isn't blocked.
Are the different sizes in a range designed to be grouped together?
Yes — most Terra Botanica pieces like the Modern Urn are available across a run of sizes specifically so they can be clustered or mixed together as a cohesive set, rather than each size being a one-off design.
Is this genuine terracotta or a terracotta-look composite?
Genuine terracotta — natural clay, shaped by hand, then wood-fired using traditional methods. It's not a resin or composite finished to look like terracotta.
How many drainage holes does each pot have?
This varies by size — smaller pieces typically have one drainage hole, while larger pots have up to three, positioned to support healthy root drainage without compromising the form of the piece.
Will my Terra Botanica pot look exactly like the photos?
Each piece is hand-thrown and wood-fired, so subtle variations in tone, texture, and surface are part of the material rather than a flaw. These small differences are what give handmade terracotta its character compared to a factory-moulded pot.
